“Sure thing boss, all you have to do is ask.”
“Book 4 of the Jasper, Street-Fighter, and Me series has not taken off as I expected it to. You know that it was a great big “fupah” by the group of us involved in selecting the title settled on M is for Malice. Two of the three of us had never read any books by Sue Grafton, and I was completely unaware of her Alphabet Series. The third member of the group simply forgot about that book.”
“I can’t argue with you there boss. So adding the “Revised Edition” to the title hasn’t really helped then.”
“No not really, I was checking on Amazon yesterday, and when I brought up the series, and then looked at M is for Malice, I saw that the only other book that people have looked at was Sue Grafton’s M is for Malice. I had originally thought that the association might help me out, but I think that it has gone the other way.” Link to book on Amazon
“So, are you thinking of changing the title to the book … Isn’t that a bit risky?”
“It does have its risks Trapper, but I am considering it. My problem is that the letter “M” and the malice felt towards Maggie are central to the story. I have a couple of ideas running around in my head. What do you think? (“Malice Always Starts with M”) (Malice + M’s = Murder) (Malice & Murder both begin with M).”
“Damn Boss, I like all three of them. The first one ties into book 3 as does the story, and if you put Malice along with those M’s it definitely equals both murder and attempted murder. There is no arguing with the logic of the last title. Hey, I just got an idea; let me put this out onto the web, with my Trapper the Cyber Snoop by-line. Maybe we will get some votes one way or the other.”
“Go for it, Trapper!...”
